Daniel Chapman (author), also known in the world of spoken word as ‘Deuce’, is the host of Harrisburg’s open mic venue, Spoken from the Trenches, held the third Friday of every month at his alma mater, Harrisburg University. His poetry pays homage to his mental health challenges, abuse survival, love, and most important to him, family. Whether he is writing something more whimsical for the children or performing a hard-hitting spoken word piece, Daniel writes with the intention of discussing and introducing themes and life lessons that uplift, enlighten, and heal.

Winde! uses her gifts and talent to enlighten, encourage, and teach those that she encounters. She writes poetry, fiction, short stories, blogs and performs spoken word. She is a motivational speaker and enjoys organizing and conducting seminars, workshops, and retreats for different groups. Winde! is currently in the publishing stages of her debut novel, The Tempest Is Raging.
In Clouds Before Fire and Smoke Before Rain, Winde! Washington-Nnochirionye confronts a variety of subject matters that are not only difficult but very necessary in our current social climate. Her ingenious and innovative use of words adds textures and tones and provides imagery for the reader. Winde! engages us with sensitive topics such as love, death, spirituality, and self-awareness with transparency and candor. Her work is evident of a therapeutic cleansing that reaches our inner soul calling us to a higher level of awareness and thinking.

T.L. and Carla joined forces in 2014, merging Harrisburg's Waid Books & Promotions with York's PoemSugar Press to create Community Arts, Ink. CAI is a nonprofit, independent publishing house, event production, and independent artist consulting company that seeks to build and empower communities through the arts. T.L. (writer, former bookstore owner and detail-oriented business woman) works with Carla (professional activist, independent artist/small business consultant, and large scale event planner) to select projects with important voice and a positive, people-centered community focus. CAI then brings those projects to life
Who are the other voices and minds behind the work that Community Arts, Ink does in south central Pennsylvania? They are the accomplished and talented directors of our partner organizations; Equality Fest, Nathaniel Gadsden's Writers Wordshop, The Rooted Artist Collective and more. Each organization operates independently with total autonomy but whenever resources can be shared, they are. We build together, we grow together - as a community.
